Project Manager, Security and Automation Department

  • When did you join TIS and how is your career going so far?

I joined TIS in the beginning of December 2019. My first working day started with a town hall meeting of the company. It was a memorable day for me because I had the chance and the privilege to learn on the very first day valuable information about the upcoming projects and development of the company. My career life is going very well so far working on a few projects. Part of them are familiar and I can contribute with my previous experience and knowledge. While others are new ones for me, which help me learn new things. I also was fortunate to join a business simulation for company management, which is a great plus for my professional development.

  • What does your job entail and what challenges do you meet?

I am responsible for the effective communication between all parties in a project, the timeline observation, the expenses and incomes flows, and the preparation of project documentation. My first effort was to learn the internal rules and procedures and incorporate myself in the working rhythm of the company. It was quite a smooth process due to the responsiveness and the help of my colleagues, not only from my team but everyone. Now the challenge is to handle projects, which are entirely new for me. But I take this as an opportunity to learn and work with the best in the industry.

  • What kind of knowledge, skills and qualities do you need to perform this role? How do you upgrade?

You must have basic knowledge about construction works, finances, delivery of equipment and the connection between them. It is a great advantage to know the project management lifecycle. Communication skills are quite important because most of the time the project manager interacts with different people coming from variety of industries and having various interests. This communication should facilitate the project goals. The ability to make important decisions during the project, the willingness to be up to date with the latest standards and to progress are very important for my current role. I constantly read relevant publications, I “borrow” good practices from colleagues and analyze each issue, so that I can be prepared for the next similar one.

  • What do you value most in your workplace? What’s your biggest motivator to come to work in the morning?

I am delighted to work with my teammates who areis highly motivated and collaborative. The inspiring atmosphere is my biggest motivator to come to work regardless the great number of tasks or issues. I know that my peers will help me, if needed. The new modern building, the relax and entertainment zones are a great bonus as well 🙂
