Petya Nikolova
Group Human Resources Director
- What is your career path so far and what brought you to Telelink Infra Services?
My professional development has followed the natural development of my knowledge and skills over the years. I have always been involved in Human Resources in companies from various sectors and industries, such as fintech, insurance, microelectronics, etc. Telelink Infra Services is an exceptional company in its development – it still has this entrepreneurial spirit and friendly work environment, managed by visioners and with a focus on people and their development. I was led here by the opportunity to contribute to the Human Resources function, to be positioned as a strategic partner of the business in the organization, both locally and at group level.
- What does your job entail and what challenges do you meet?
The main challenge for me and the company is that the position is new, and it is a pathway of building policies and processes that are valid for all countries where TIS is represented – Bulgaria, Macedonia, Britain, Germany and Albania. Processes need to be built as part of a unified human resources management strategy, but of course this needs to be tailormade to fit TIS.
- What kind of knowledge, skills and qualities do you need to perform this role? How do you upgrade your qualifications?
First of all, it is important to know the best practices in the field, as well as to have critical and strategic thinking, and the idea is to carefully study the need and apply a tailor-made approach. I read constantly, every day, nowadays training has shifted to daily development, not so much in training. Of course, various certificates in the field such as CIPD, SHRM are also important for the professional development, thus keeping you up to date. I plan to acquire them in the future.
- What do you value most in your workplace? What’s your biggest motivator to come to work in the morning?
Colleagues and the opportunity to develop and build, as well as the freedom to offer something new where I have the knowledge and skills for. It is impressive how engaged the colleagues are, despite the difficult environment in the last 2 years. Our office is great, it truly represents TIS as a company – modern, smart, efficient.
- What is Petya Nikolova like outside the work environment?
I am no different outside of the work environment, but with other responsibilities. My priorities are family, friends, and free time, which becomes less and less. I appreciate the little things and look at the bright side of life.
