Technical Project Manager, Network Infrastructure Department

  • When did you join TIS and how is your career going so far?

My career path with TIS started in 2016, when I joined our team in the UK, working as a Field Engineer for a year and a half on a project with Vodafone. For me personally it was quite interesting and challenging to be part of the organization in a totally different working environment as well as being introduced to the lifestyle and the culture of the British people.

After getting back to Sofia, I was thrilled to be part of the team working on one of the most exciting critical infrastructure projects in the country, giving me unique experience and expertise. Once the project was finished, in September 2019, I joined the team of the technical managers as an Technical Project Manager.

  • What does your job entail and what challenges do you meet?

In my role as an Technical Project Manager I have much more responsibilities than before, including managerial ones. This being for the first time in my career is really challenging but I am eager to learn and to succeed. I communicate on daily basis with all kind of subcontractors, working mainly on telecom projects. Sometimes in the course of the day, in order to tackle the many challenges I face, I must take quick and proactive decisions.

  • What kind of knowledge, skills and qualities do you need to perform this role? How do you upgrade your qualifications?

I am about to graduate with Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications technologies from the Higher School of Telecommunications and Post in Sofia, and I plan to enrol for the Master’s. This makes me more confident and content. Of course, my knowledge and skills through my 19 years of experience in the field of telecommunications help me a lot in my work. I benefit from valuable takeaways from each role I’ve undertaken over the years.

  • What do you value most in your workplace? What’s your biggest motivator to come to work in the morning?

My team is my greatest value in the company. Our work environment is dynamic, and we manage to stay focused and on top of the things because of my team’s dedication and inspiration. Мy personal development and professional growth in the company and my family’s support are the greatest motivators to come to work every morning.
