As a Fiber Optic Technician, you will be responsible for:
Complete installation of communication equipment according to the provided assignment, including installation works and equipment configuration at telecommunication sites, exchanges, duct networks, etc.
- Reading FDP diagrams and block diagrams for the connection of optical cables and fibers, according to input data provided by the Client;
- Building optical connectivity in existing and new optical networks; Splicing and arranging optical fibers in ODFs, closures, distribution cabinets, according to the Client’s requirements and FDP diagrams;
- Splicing, measurement of optical cables and newly built optical lines;
- Installation of passive and active equipment in communication racks and pulling of optical cables;
- Compliance with the schedule for execution of the tasks;
- Proper operation and maintenance of the provided equipment;
- Troubleshooting faults in an optical network;
- Preparation of reports for the performed activities;
- Knowledge and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements;
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Experience and knowledge of installation practices and materials – installation of closures, types of optical cables and standards, patch cords, adapters, connectors, optical distribution frames /ODF/;
- Experience in splicing and arranging optical fibers;
- Experience with measuring equipment will be considered an advantage;
- Knowledge of the types of optical networks and elements (FTTB, FTTH, FTTA – AON, PON, etc.);
- Completed secondary education – technical education is an advantage (completed higher education will be considered an advantage);
- Willingness to work in a team and acquire new knowledge and skills;
- Driving license – category B;
- Experience in a similar position will be considered an advantage;
- Skills in working with hand tools, machines, and personal protective equipment;
- Good organizational and communication skills;
